Now, when it comes to design, the V60 estate blends the traits of its elder sibling, the V90, and the XC60 crossover. And let me tell you, telling the V90 apart from the V60 with the naked eye is no easy feat. Unless you've got the dimensions engraved in your brain, spotting the differences becomes a mental gymnastics exercise. The 60 is a tad smaller at 4761 mm in length (a mere 178 mm shorter than the 90), and the wheelbase is 2872 mm (69 mm less than its "big brother"). Now, in the styling department, the estates differ slightly in their front bumpers – V60's fog light zone rocks chromed inserts, and the air intake area only covers the central part. Oh, and the "Thor's hammer" door handle – the line of daytime running lights on the V60 protrudes beyond the main headlight area. But the most glaring distinction in the design? The V60 boasts a higher window line, making the glass on the "big" estate look noticeably lower.

Inside the Volvo V60, it's like stepping into a meticulous reproduction of the XC60 crossover. The same towering 9-inch touchscreen wedged between colossal air deflectors, the identical row of buttons underneath, dominated by a central control hub for audio adjustments. It's a Swedish design minimalism extravaganza. Forget about conventional gauges – you get an 8-inch virtual panel as standard, or you can upgrade to the optional 12-inch one. As for the cargo space, it swallows 529 liters without even considering the floor compartment. Fold those rear seats, and you've got yourself a whopping 1364 liters.

Now, let's talk about the mechanical masterpiece under the hood. The V60 sits on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform with a transverse engine layout. Power options? Take your pick – gasoline, diesel, or hybrid. All engines follow the same family of Drive-E 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinders. The gasoline lineup includes the T5 with 254 horsepower and the T6 (supercharged and turbocharged) with a mighty 320 horsepower. On the diesel front, there's the D4 pushing out 190 horses and the D5 with a robust 235 horsepower. The diesel engines come with front-wheel drive, while the gasoline ones boast an all-wheel-drive setup.

The hybrids? They're plug-in wonders. A 10.4 kWh battery lurks in the central tunnel, and a 117 horsepower electric motor spins the rear wheels. The T6 Twin Engine AWD version delivers a combined output of 340 horsepower and 590 Nm of torque, while the beefier T8 Twin Engine AWD, with its more potent gasoline engine, churns out 390 horses and 640 Nm of torque. All engines dance with an 8-speed automatic, but if you're a diesel devotee, the 6-speed manual is exclusively available for those versions.

The Volvo V60 comes in two flavors – the simpler Momentum and the opulent Inscription. Even the base model boasts diode headlights, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable lumbar support seats, cruise control, and a thumping 330-watt audio system with 10 speakers. And for the tech enthusiasts, the base package includes lane-keeping assistance, sign recognition, parking aid, and hill-start assist. If you're feeling fancy, throw in the adaptive suspension, a 1400-watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 19 speakers, a panoramic roof, surround-view cameras, four-zone climate control, and front seats with ventilation and massage functions – for an extra cost, of course.
